Ancillae - An "adolescent" vampire.

Antediluvian - One of the oldest Vampires. Of the third generation.

Book of Nod - The "sacred" book of the Kindred. Has never been published in its' entirety, although a few incomplete versions are around.

Bloodline - A distinct lineage from sire to childe.

Blood Bond - A mystic Servitude to another vampire as a result from drinking his blood three times.

Childe - The new vampire formed once the sire embraces a mortal.

Childer - The group of Progeny under a single vampire.

Clan - A group of vampires who share certain mystical and physical characteristics. Not unlike a family.

Coterie - A sect of vampires that protect and support one another.

Diablerie - The cannabalistic behavior common among kindred, involving the consumption of the blood of another vampire.

Elder - A vampire of more than 300 years of age.

Embrace, The - The act of transforming a mortal into a vampire, by draining the mortal's' blood and replacing it with a small amount of the vampire's own.

Fledgling - A term for a young, newly embraced, inexperienced vampire.

Generation - The number of steps between a vampire and Archon. Archon being the only one of the first generation.

Haven - The home of a vampire or place which he sleeps during the day.

Inconnu - A sect of vampires, made up mostly of Methuselahs, who have removed themselves from all affairs, both mortal and Kindred. They all state that they have nothing to do with the restless.

Kindred - A vampire; one of the vitae.

Lush - A Vampire that drinks the blood of mortals under the influence of drink or drugs so that they may experience the sensation themselves.

Methuselah - An elder who no longer lives among the other kindred. Many are members of the Inconnu.

Neonate - Fully trained vampires, who have proven themselves in loyalty and in battle.

Primogen - A city's ruling council of elders.

Progeny - A collective term for all vampires created by a single sire.

Sect - General name for a group within the Kindred.

Seneschal - These members act as the Methuselahs aids, their tasks number from being the bodyguard of the Methuselah to leading a division into battle for the Methuselah.

Sire - The originator of the descending vampire, can be either male or female.

Torpor - Deep sleep.

Vitae - Blood.
