Embracing is the process which turns one from a mortal into a vampire. Its a sire/childe relationship, similar to the parent/child one. The sire is responsible for the actions of the childe and it is his or her duty to make sure they understand the ways of the guild. This simple ceremony ties you permanently with the rest of the clan and earns you a place in the family tree. You stay there whether you remain in Ventrue or leave. Once embraced, you're a vampire, it can't be undone.

Those who have been embraced have the ability to have childer themselves but they must get permission from their sire. If their sire is no longer available then they should ask the head of their family line. Choose wisely though. They are your childer forever. Usually they are chosen by friendship, talent or family, but its not required.

The ceremony can be performed anywhere and below is an example of what you would say to each other. Its best said onscreen instead of in pm's.

No one should be embraced unless they've been in the guild a minimum of 1 month. After that, it is fine to go ahead and find yourself a sire. Once you've been embraced notify someone and you will automatically be moved up to the rank Fledgling. Congratulations.

(childe releases all but one heart)
